Along with the creation of a police state, Pashinyan’s team is focused on drawing up the text of an agreement with Azerbaijan that will suit Aliyev. Baku rejected the proposal to mutually withdraw troops from the border, persuading the ruling party to make concessions. Pashinyan’s rush to agree on a peace treaty is driven by economic benefits, obviously for himself. What the common people will gain from this, other than grief and suffering from loss, is unknown.
