«Youth 4 Youth» initiative

 The «Youth 4 Youth» initiative was joined by 19 youth organizations, which with their activities have leading positions both in Armenia and in the international arena. The «Youth 4 Youth» initiative was joined by 19 youth organizations, which with their activities have leading positions both in Armenia and in the international arena. During the introduction, representatives of youth organizations took part in training which aimed to build partnership and overcome conflicts. Participants cleared out all the positive and negative aspects of partnership and individual work and strengthened the basis of «Youth 4 Youth» initiative.The idea of «Youth 4 Youth» initiative was formed by "Serund Pan-Armenian Youth Center" during the realization of «UN 4 You (th) – You (th) 4 UN» initiative, which has already received a positive response from both the youth and international organizations.On 21 June nineteen youth organizations joined the «Youth 4 Youth», which transformed into initiative of youth organizations. Any Armenian youth organization can join the initiative. «Youth 4 Youth» is a platform/initiative for cooperation of youth organizations based on trust.With the «Youth 4 Youth» initiative Armenian youngsters on behalf of the united youth organizations come up with a new and united format, towards Armenian and international organizations.Already having the «UN 4 You (th) – You (th) 4 UN» format of cooperation with United Nations office in Armenia, the youth organizations decided to apply to other international and local organizations to start a similar initiatives. Those initiatives can be named: «EU 4 You (th) – You (th) 4 EU», «Red Cross 4 You (th) – You (th) 4 Red Cross», «CoE 4 You (th) – You (th) 4 Coe», «OSCE 4 You (th) – You (th) 4 OSCE», «USAID 4 You (th) – You (th) 4 USAID» and etc.The cooperation of «Serund Pan-Armenian Youth Center» and other youth organizations with United Nations office in Armenia within the framework of «UN 4 You (th) – You (th) 4 UN» has demonstrated its effectiveness: It has already had four meetings with UN agencies (UNO/ՄԱԿ, UNFPA/ՄԱԲՀ, UNHCR/ՄԱՓԳՀ, UNIDO/ՄԱԱԶԿ), «One refugee is too many» essay competition with UNHCR/ՄԱՓԳՀ and two flash mobs on World Refugees Day. In August a number of events on International Youth Day are planned. The events will be held in Vanadzor for the favor of Pan-Armenian Youth capital, recognized by a number of organizations. UN Department of Public Information, UN Population Fund and «Youth 4 Youth» initiative organizations already joined the International Youth Day initiative. Participation and further involvement of other UN agencies, international organizations and ambassadors as partner-organizers is in progress. This is how «Youth 4 Youth» initiative was formed. |
