Taylor Swift has claimed the title of female artist with the most chart-topping albums after the release of Speak Now (Taylor's Version) .

Speak Now was originally released in 2010, but Swift re-recorded it along with two bonus songs and released it on July 7.

Last week, Speak Now (Taylor's Version) reached number one on the Billboard albums chart, bringing her total number of number-one albums to 12.

Previously, Barbra Streisand held the record for female artists, with 11 number-one albums.

But Swift still has a way to go before she reaches the very top spot.

She is currently tied with Drake's record of 12 number-one records, and sits just behind Jay-Z, who has 14 number-one albums to his name. The Beatles remain ahead with 19.

Using data from physical album sales, digital sales and the number of streams on platforms like Spotify, Luminate Data says Swift sold the equivalent of 716, 000 copies of Speak Now (Taylor's Version) in less than two weeks.

In a time when most people stream their music online, Swift sold about 410, 000 physical copies of her album.

Swift currently has four albums charting in the Billboard Top 20 — Midnights, Lover, Folklore and Speak Now (Taylor's Version) — a feat that hasn't been achieved since 1966 by trumpeter Herb Albert.
