Place of Armenia on the US-Chinese battlefield
The pandemic has accelerated the transition of US-Chinese relations from the state of periodic scandals to the Cold War. The struggle between China and the United States that the world is witnessing today has long ceased to be only an economic struggle. First of all, this is a battle of ideologies.
The blaming the Chinese government for the large-scale spread of the virus was the reason for the official start of this war, and the fear of transferring responsibility for almost 100, 000 Americans who died from the disease to Beijing was its triggers. The strategies of the ruling elites of both countries to global domination are explained by the inhumanity of their decisions, that carry risks for the entire planet. What is there to be surprised when even conflicting players of a local level often do not want to meet each other? Obviously, World War II did not fundamentally change the collective consciousness.
In the emerging geopolitical situation of the confrontation between the United States and China, the team of the Prime Minister of Armenia continues the policy of complementarity, initiated by Robert Kocharian. This foreign policy course not only does not strengthen the independence of the republic, but also leads Armenia to disaster. The lack of a common understanding among the authorities of the development of cooperation with not only China and the USA, but also other geopolitical centers, also causes an internal crisis in the republic, which is clearly manifested in scandals and mass fights in parliament.
Today, the foreign policy multi-vector approach does not serve as a constructive strategic factor for Armenia. On the contrary, it is fragmenting society.
On the US-Chinese battlefield, Yerevan is more likely to take the US side, which is also not a favorable development. For such a choice, of course, you can get an influx of dollars, the bulk of which will settle in the pockets of those thanks to which Washington gained control over the biosafety industry in the South Caucasus.
In turn, China has so far stated that it continues to consider Armenia as a partner and an important participant in the "One Belt, One Way" initiative.
The Armenian government also declares its desire to remain in allied relations with Iran and Russia, but at the same time leases its US territory under the objects of a hybrid war against these strategic partners.
In any case, it's time on the chessboard to decide on the choice of a real ally with a similar ideology. When transforming the policy of complementarism into a constructive mainstream of Armenia, it is also necessary to solve the issue of biological laboratories.
