ECONOMICS AND LAW INFORMATION RESEARCH CENTRE

By the initiative of Armenian Red Cross Company and USA Embassy in Armenia, in the frames of the program ‘’Empower the most vulnerable’’, ‘’Economics and Law’’ Centre ran courses during March in 2014 the aim of which was to assist the Syrian Armenians in the issues of starting businesses in Armenia, organizing it effectively and becoming successful entrepreneur. The above mentioned program was the one of the service package which is suggested in the frames of the programs ‘’Assistance Fund’’, ‘’Assistance to Ongoing Education Training’’, as well as ‘’Assistance to Repatriates’’. In the result of this course informative, consultative and educational assistance was provided to the Syrian Armenians who want to invest their business (mostly small) and to provide an economic activity. In the frames of opportunity, all the steps which are necessary and enough for the business and the legal choice of the organization were presented in details and subjectively, as well as the conditions and the sequence of business and company registration were clarified. The beneficiaries were also presented the whole information of the sphere of tax, accounting and economy which are necessary for the purpose of business investment and management.

As a rule, the programs which have an indicator of long-time usefulness and relevance can be perspective and productive. Particularly, it is necessary to suggest the assistance programs around various issues not only for gaining temporary relief (including money), but also it is purposeful to act as an initiative which will give beneficiaries the opportunity to be included in specific programs by the result of which they themselves can solve their own problems.

In this context, during those courses, in addition to the originally stated goal of effective and full implementation, in the result of the discussions and contact with the Syrian Armenians, a number of problems were revealed which first of all are connected with the necessity to undergo socialization by the people who are willing to live and provide activity in the native town.

As a result of the realization of the above mentioned process, beneficiaries (the Syrian Armenians, Lebanese Armenians, as well as the immigrants from other countries) will be adapted to the new environment, will become the members of that society, why not, will also become a full-fledged citizens.

In such a project, the assistance over informative, consultative, educational, training and various solving problems is becoming important which must be ongoing, but not current or untimely.

In the frames of the program "Assistance to repatriates", "Assistance Fund" which acts in the frames of "Economics and Law" Centre, is willing to assist the Armenians returned to Armenia including in some existing projects (in which mostly the informative and consultative assistance is becoming important, including legal, financial, accounting, tax, organizational, business and other destinations) .

By the way, «Economics and Law» Centre will realize another program which includes up to 80 Syrian Armenians, who wants to start your business in Armenia. This program will be realized by the initiative of Armenian Red Cross Company and Austrian Red Cross Company and funded by Austrian Development Cooperation.

‘’Assistance Fund" turns to the persons and organizations anxious and interested in these or other problems with the proposal of cooperation in favor of a long-term and ongoing assistance.
