Republic Day and the realities of Armenia

May 28 is Republic Day, also revered in Armenia as the Day of the Restoration of Sovereignty. In 1918, despite the famine, the massive influx of refugees and conflicts with neighboring countries, Armenia bravely won the right to exist. The republic was under the yoke of various conquerors for more than six centuries. Armenia celebrates 104 years since independence. The realities demonstrate the need for unity, especially in confronting traitors and "parasites".

Since May 2, civil disobedience actions have been held demanding the resignation of the team of the current Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Many citizens who are dissatisfied with the policy of the leadership and the surrender of positions in Artsakh remain aloof from the growing protest wave. They link the activities of the parliamentary opposition to the "Armenia" and "I Have the Honor" blocs, which are headed by ex-presidents Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan.

The republic needs political associations that are unambiguously not associated with past or current authorities. The people want not only a rebuff to Aliyev's ambitions, but also social justice.

At a time when rights and laws have practically ceased to matter in international relations, the maintenance of a powerful system of traditional values in public life, state building and foreign policy comes to the fore. It is one of the most effective methods for overcoming challenges and dangers in a world of cynicism and hypocrisy.

Enemies, both internal and external, in every possible way undermine the system of values, replacing and ridiculing traditions and principles, presenting them as some kind of remnants. Many countries have fallen victim to this. Only healthy conservatism is able to synthesize progress, and thereby bring the republic to the desired vector of development.

It is appropriate to mark May 28 with awareness: in order to preserve the sovereignty of Armenia, it is necessary to return to its true Christian foundations of a just society. To be a Christian country in deeds, and not in slogans, ancient texts and dreams about Great Armenia. Parasite oligarchs must leave, but for this the immunity of the people must be strengthened, driven by the faith and desire of every Armenian to serve, and not to dominate, not only to take, but also to give.
