The direct regular flight Yerevan-Lyon officially launched on April 19 opens new perspectives for cooperation development between Yerevan and Lyon (France) .
The first passengers were solemnly met at the airport by the head of Yerevan Municipality Department of Foreign Relations David Gevorgyan and the first Advisor to the Ambassador of France to Armenia Claire le Flecher.
Stressing the importance of friendly and partner relations established between Yerevan and Lyon David Gevorgyan noted that this year they will have been cooperating for 26 years and in this regard the direct flight will benefit strengthening bilateral ties.
"During the visit of the Mayor of Lyon to Yerevan in March the Mayors of the two cities attaching importance to cooperation development and expansion signed the Cooperation Memorandum. Lyon is an important partner for us and launching of the new flight will open new possibilities for cooperation and especially tourism development", said David Gevorgyan.
Passenger transportation will be carried out by "Armenia" air company twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays.
The first Advisor to the Ambassador of France to Armenia Claire Flecher noted that France greets the launching of direct regular flights.
"Launching of the flight will certainly make to relationship between Armenia and France tighter particularly taking into account the fact that the year of 2018 is full of events for Yerevan. The 17th summit of the International Organization of Francophonie is going to be held in the capital of Armenia", said Flecher.
The passengers of the flight among which are both Armenians and French people noted that for them Yerevan is the direction full of discoveries which will give them the opportunity to get acquainted with the 2800-year-old capital.
